NuLink Aldehyde


Aromatic aldehydes are a commonly employed coupling partner for condensation reactions between biomolecules. Particularly, aldehydes are utilized for the formation of:


  • Imines (condensation with primary amines)
  • Hydrazones (condensation with alkyl hydrazines and hydrazides)
  • Oximes (condensation with hydroxylamines)


However, due to the nature of aromatic aldehydes these reagents are often hampered by poor water solubility thereby necessitating the need for water miscible organic solvcnts. NuChemie’s NuLink platform offers aromatic aldehydes with a variety of desirable properties for use in bioconjugation reactions. Unlike other commercially available aldehydes, NuLink aldehydes exhibit superior water solubility negating the need for any organic solvents during any part of the bioconjugation workflow. Additionally, like the rest of the NuLink platform, NuLink aldehydes all possess an intrinsic chromophore making quantification a simple one-step process. This simple quantification process also makes possible stringent quality control over each step of the bioconjugation process, and also enables an effective means of process optimization.
